MALAYSIA
Malaysia is a fantastic fusion of Malay, Chinese and Indian cultures and customs while at the same time offering jungle and wildlife, vibrant cities, glorious golden beaches, magic islands and the enchanting remnants of Dutch colonial architecture. Its capital Kuala Lumpur is where every visit begins and it is as modern and sophisticated as any 21st century city with five star hotels, great restaurants, fantastic shopping, the teeming neighbourhoods of Chinatown and Little India as well as one of the world’s tallest buildings.

Most visitors head off to the beach resorts of Penang, stopping briefly at the island’s capital Georgetown, a city which hasn’t changed in almost a century, or to the paradise island of Pangkor Laut to enjoy and relax in the warms waters of the South China Sea edged by golden sands and fringed by rainforest. While the more adventurous will head off to Sabah and the Sepilok Orang-Utan Rehabilitation Centre, one of only four of its kind in the world. Others will pause for a few days in the Cameron Highlands, right in the centre of the Malay peninsula and where both locals and visitors go to escape the heat and humidity of the towns and cities. It is also the centre of the tea industry and one of the highlights of a stay here is a plantation tour. Jungle walks and golf are also available for the active.
